Brittany, a.k.a “B Town,” is one of the co- founders, co- owners and co-directors of downtown Tucson’s Cirque Roots Studio and productions. Spectrum will be her 2nd Directorial performance piece. Brittany has been a performer most of her life including many years of professional figure skating at a young age, a dancer and even a diver for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock during her college years. Brittany’s love of dance and performing led her to circus arts and through that she discovered the beautiful art of stilt dance and acrobatics. Brittany has performed nationally and internationally on her stilts and is excited to share her knowledge of basic stilt walking, stilt dance and acrobatics with everyone!
Jennifer began her exploration of dance 16 years ago with West African dance, and continues to study dance from the African Diaspora as her main inspiration for movement. She has performed aerial with groups such as Flam Chen, Sugar Beast Circus, AirLoom Aerial (of which she is a co-founder), and Cirque Roots. She has had the pleasure of touring with The Carpetbag Brigade and Flam Chen as an acrobatic stilt walker and dancer. She has worked with other companies such as Quasi Cum Aluminum Dance Unit, MamAxe Dance Collective, and Nemcatacoa of Colombia. She loves sharing what she has learned from these collaborations and growing together with her fantastic creative community.
Leanne has been performing with Cirque Roots Productions since 2013 and with The FlightSchool Acrobatics since 2010. Leanne’s love for partner acrobatics began while living in Mexico from 2005 - 2010, and upon arrival to Tucson she found herself right at home among the circus stars. Leanne began stilting in late 2013 and it was love at first step. For her, combining acrobatics with stilting was a dream come true! She loves sharing the joy of play with all.
Stephanie is a co-founder, co-owner, and artistic director of Cirque Roots Studio and Productions. Stephanie has choreographed many shows for the past four years, and performed for a variety of audiences and venues. Modern hoop dance has been her primary performance art, however her excitement and interests has led to an expansion of skills including fire dance, stilt dance, and acrobatics. She has learned from many amazing circus and performance artists throughout the world, and has developed her own unique style. Her passion is simply to inspire creativity, confidence, and happiness.
Zoë is Co-Founder of Cirque Roots Productions and Studio. Including one of the original members of Tucson's first modern hula hoop troupe Orbital Evolution founded in 2009. Through collaboration and classes Zoë's passion to infuse dance into her flow arts has expanded into stilting, fire dancing (rope dart, hoop, zip poi, fans) and partner-acrobatics. She continues to collaborate with her circus troupe to create new and elaborate works that inspire audiences. Along with performing, she uses her background in TV & film production as co-producer on all of Cirque Roots productions.
